Web design is hard.
 
You can always tell at a glance if a site was professionally designed...
 
Or if it was hacked together by an amateur.

Professional design services are expensive.
 
And doing it yourself involves a lot of HTML, CSS, javascript and Photoshop tutorials.

Not to mention endless cross-browser inconsistencies which are the bane of web designers everywhere. *Cough* IE.
 
Even for us computer geeks, it's tiresome.
